The JD is the general law degree for those who have earned a baccalaureate degree and are interested in taking the bar exam and becoming a licensed attorney. We also welcome applications from transfer and international/2-year JD applicants.

The LLM is a universally recognized advanced law degree offered at DePaul for those who have earned their primary law degree (JD, LLB or Bachelor of Law) and seek to further specialize in their practice or study of law.

Master of Legal Studies (MLS) Admission

The MLS is designed for professionals who do not seek to practice law, but who regularly encounter legal issues in their work and/or would benefit from specialized legal knowledge. For added flexibility, select MLS programs are offered online.

Financial Aid

We know law school is a big investment, and DePaul is committed to help make it as accessible and affordable as possible. Financial Aid is available in the form of federal student loans. In addition, the College of Law awards a limited number of scholarships to entering first-year law students, based on academic merit.
