Main Content
DePaul Law welcomes all students and is committed to supporting your success within our community. Guided by our Vincentian values of dignity and personalism, we are dedicated to providing access to legal education for a diverse student population. We believe that every student, including those with visible and invisible disabilities, has the potential to excel and become outstanding, purpose-driven lawyers, leaders and advocates. Your unique experiences and contributions enrich our community, and we are here to help you shine.
To uphold this commitment, students with disabilities are encouraged to connect with the University’s Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) to explore available accommodations. CSD facilitates the provision of accommodations for students with documented disabilities in accordance with the American with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. This process ensures that all students have the necessary resources to thrive academically and personally.
Steps to Receive an Accommodation During Law School
- Upon approval from CSD, you will receive an email from the College of Law’s Office of Student Affairs confirming your accommodation.
- Midterm Examinations/Assessments: For approved additional time accommodations, you must confirm with your professor in advance that the accommodation is noted in the exam platform. If you also have a reduced testing distraction or private testing space accommodation, you must contact CSD no later than five business days prior to the exam date to schedule a space to take the exam.
- Final Exams: For approved final exam accommodations, the College of Law’s Office of Student Affairs will send you an email explaining the accommodation procedure at least four weeks prior to the final exam period.
- To utilize any exam or assessment accommodation, you must be fully enrolled with CSD (i.e., your accommodation must be approved by CSD and confirmed by the College of Law) no later than 10 business days prior to the exam/assessment date, so please allow sufficient time to complete CSD’s intake and interview process.
