Academic Opportunities

​​​​​As part of DePaul Law’s Program of Excellence in Public Interest Law & Public Service, the Center for Public Interest Law prepares students to advocate for social justice and serve communities through academic, experiential and service-based opportunities. Students can pursue a JD Certificate in Public Interest Law, explore electives and legal clinics across a wide range of social justice areas, and gain hands-on experience through externships, service trips and community-based legal work. 

JD Certificate in Public Interest Law 

DePaul Law offers a wide selection of electives and clinics that allow you to explore various facets of public interest law, and if you are committed to this training, you also can pursue the JD Certificate in Public Interest Law. This credential noted on your transcript reflects your focused study and engagement in the field and includes coursework and hands-on experiences tailored to public interest practice.
