Academic Opportunities

​DePaul Law’s Program of Excellence in Intellectual Property Law & Information Technology offers one of the most diverse and forward-looking IP/IT curricula in the country. The program includes a broad mix of coursework, seminars, skills classes and clinical experiences, including the Technology/Intellectual Property (TIP®) Field Clinic. You also can pursue a JD certificate, choose from three joint degrees or earn an LLM.

CIPLIT’s Technology & Data Protection Initiative reflects the growing need for lawyers with strong fluency in both the legal and technical dimensions of cybersecurity, privacy and emerging technology. Through a partnership with DePaul’s Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM), law students—even those without a technical background—can take select CDM courses for JD credit, preparing you to navigate today’s most urgent technology law challenges. Courses include, among others:
