Academic Advising

College of Law faculty members actively mentor and advise students, both formally and informally. Beginning spring 2015, all first-year students will be paired with a faculty advisor, as part of our First-Year Advising Program. The faculty advisor is a point of contact for students who are seeking advice on course selection and other academic matters.

The College of Law offers various pathways for specialization. Students who are interested in focusing their studies in a particular area of law can consult faculty program advisors in the various areas of concentration. Students have the opportunity to pursue a variety of certificates and joint degrees while at DePaul, including a joint JD/LLM.

Students seeking additional support in their studies, beyond guidance about choosing courses or areas of concentration, can take advantage of our Academic Support Program. DePaul also provides preparation and support for students preparing for the bar exam through our Bar Passage Program.
