Allison I. Ortlieb graduated from the University of Chicago in 1996 with a BA in archeological anthropology. She received her JD from the University of Chicago Law School in 1999. Prior to joining DePaul, Ortlieb worked for the Cook County Office of the Public Guardian. She represented abused and neglected children in court proceedings in the Circuit Court of Cook County for several years before joining the office's appeals division. She has argued before both the Illinois Appellate and Supreme Courts. Ortlieb's research interests include Constitutional law, children's rights, and Native American law.
