Meet Stephanie Rosienski. Stephanie
Rosienski graduated from DePaul University College of Law this May. The E-Pulse
had an opportunity to speak with Stephanie about her experiences at DePaul Law,
her interest in Health Law, and advice she has for current law students.
Stephanie’s interest in law began in
High School where she was involved in the school’s debate team. The debate team
gave her the opportunity to deal with policy issues and participate in public
forum debates with other students. Her
time with the debate team sparked her passion for problem solving and her
interest in reading, research, and writing. After High School, Stephanie
attended Butler University in Indiana. At Butler, she double-majored in
Political Science and History. Her academic background helped to ground a more
solid foundation in critical reading, analytical thinking, and writing which
are all necessary skills for the practice of law. In addition to her studies,
Stephanie was involved with the Student Government Association at school and
participated in Club Lacrosse. Stephanie’s experiences at Butler illustrate her
well-rounded nature and willingness to have a positive impact on people’s
lives. Upon graduating from Butler, Stephanie worked at Applied Resources, a
successful Staffing and recruiting agency in Chicago. Her work experience
together with her educational background and passion for policy and problem
solving guided her to the field of law where she found her home, DePaul.
As a student of the law, Stephanie
wishes to work in an area that is constantly growing and where she can have the
potential to impact the lives of many. This has contributed to her interest in
Health Law where she has been able to foster connections with health care
professionals and develop her understanding of the field of Health Law thanks
to DePaul’s Jaharis Health Law Institute.
Throughout her time at DePaul, Stephanie’s
favorite class has been Mediation taught by Professor Katheryn Dutenhaver. She
recommends the class for other students at DePaul because Mediation is a
practical skill all lawyers should have, and it is a crucial tool that will
help lawyers better meet the demands of their clients and work towards their
best interests. Stephanie also enjoyed her Health Care Fraud and Abuse class
with Professor Schostok, where she was able to make a connection with a guest
lecturer at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
(IDFPR). This connection proved to be quite beneficial for it lead to
Stephanie’s current position as a law clerk as well as the offering of a
general counsel staff attorney position with IDFPR. Stephanie has accepted the
position and will begin working for IDFPR later this year.
Currently, Stephanie plans on preparing
for the bar exam this upcoming July and will be studying hard while also taking
lots of relaxing trips to the beach with her dog. She thanks DePaul for three
great years and looks forward to developing her skills in the promising legal
career ahead of her. The E-Pulse congratulates Stephanie on her great
achievement and wishes her the best in the upcoming year.
