3L Spotlight: Meghan Martine

Meghan Martine, a Wisconsin native, received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Meghan was a member of the Women’s Golf Team and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Textile Design. After graduating, she worked for her family’s construction supply company as a project manager. Meghan always set her sights on a career in law, so after two years as a project manager she began her journey at DePaul University College of Law.

Throughout her journey at DePaul, Meghan took many classes offered in health law, but became especially passionate about Health Care Compliance and Health Care Fraud and Abuse. DePaul helped prepare Meghan for practice in Health Law by not only offering many health law classes, but also lectures and events that enabled her to reach out to professionals in the field.

During her time with the Jaharis Health Law Institute, Meghan competed on the Health Law Moot Court team and was a summer scholar after her 1L year. As a summer scholar, she had the opportunity to work in compliance at Hill-Rom and made invaluable connections during her time there.

For rising 1Ls and 2Ls, Meghan stresses the importance of time management skills and networking. She encourages students to step out of their comfort zone and network as often as they can. Also, take time for yourself outside of school and enjoy some sushi at Juno, her favorite spot in Lincoln Park.

After graduation, Meghan will be preparing for and taking the Illinois bar. She is excited to start working as she searches for a job in the Health Law field.
