The DePaul Center for Art, Museum & Cultural Heritage Law (CAMCHL) provides students with a chance to explore unique cross-curricular offerings in the rapidly growing areas of art, museum and cultural heritage law. The center offers students opportunities to explore these exciting areas of
law through a two-course sequence of Art and the Law and a
seminar in Cultural Heritage Law, complemented by a range of programs and activities, including internship and externship placements at institutions such as the Field Museum of Natural History, the Chicago
History Museum, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other cultural institutions, government agencies and nonprofit organizations.
The Lawyers' Committee for Cultural Heritage Preservation
(LCCHP) is a nonprofit organization of lawyers, law students and
interested members of the public who have joined together to promote the
preservation and protection of cultural heritage resources in the
United States and internationally through education and advocacy.
The Art and Cultural Heritage Law Society
(ACHLS) is a student-run organization that strives to connect students interested in the art, museum and cultural heritage law fields with professionals in the legal
community, especially with those practicing in areas affecting museums, the art market,
contemporary artists and cultural heritage. ACHLS works to accomplish this mission through mentoring programs, organizing networking events at DePaul and in the greater Chicago community, and hosting
practicing attorneys and other professionals as guest speakers at DePaul.
The DePaul Appellate Moot Court Society
is a student-run organization committed to the advancement of oral and
written advocacy, the furtherance of practical legal skills and
scholastic excellence. Sponsoring competitions in a wide variety of
areas of law, DePaul teams compete annually with teams from other law schools across the nation in a wide variety of moot court competitions.
The Antiquities Coalition unites a diverse group of experts in the fight against cultural racketeering: the looting and trafficking of antiquities by organized criminals and terrorist organizations. This plunder for profit funds crime and conflict around the world and is erasing our past and threatening our future. The coalition's innovative and practical solutions tackle crimes against heritage head on, empowering communities and countries in crisis. We partner with leaders from the worlds of heritage, business, diplomacy, law, policy, security, and technology. Through independent research and outside collaborations, we develop and implement programs that preserve the past for future generations, while cutting off a key source of funding for criminals and terrorists.
The DePaul Center for Intellectual Property Law & Information Technology
(CIPLIT®) was established to promote research and concentrated study in
intellectual property and information technology broadly defined. It
seeks to develop IP professionals of the highest caliber through an
all-inclusive learning experience that combines outstanding classroom
education, innovative scholarship, first-class training in lawyering
skills and an unparalleled range of extracurricular activities. The
DePaul Journal of Art, Technology & Intellectual Property Law,
published biannually under the direction of a student editorial board,
also works closely with CIPLIT to address current legal issues in the
field.
