Dario Dzananovic is currently serving as a judicial law clerk for Justice Rena M. Van Tine at the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, in Chicago. Prior to that role, he clerked for two other appellate court justices in the First District. Before his employment with the state, Dario practiced immigration law, and worked for a plaintiffs' class action litigation firm in the Loop.
Dario received his JD, summa cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law in 2014. Additionally, he holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an LL.M. degree from Radboud University Nijmegen (the Netherlands), and a Ph.D. in comparative immigration law from Radboud University Nijmegen. In 2020, he published his monograph titled Migration, the State, and Faith-Based Organizations (Leiden: Brill). In addition to immigration law and policy, Dario's legal interests include constitutional law, contracts, and consumer protection. Outside of the legal world, Dario enjoys fine cuisine and hiking the Colorado 14'ers.
