Mr. Brown is co-founder and chief of legal innovation at Overture, and a founding partner of the national law firm L&F Brown, P.C., where he serves as the firm’s Managing Partner and General Counsel.
Mr. Brown’s practice focuses on legal ethics and the business of law. He is one of the country’s foremost experts on the ethics of attorney fee splitting and the ethical implications of legal tech. Mr. Brown also has a robust business transactional and litigation practice where he handles a wide variety of matters on behalf of innovators and disruptors.
He’s been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers multiple times. He’s also been recognized as a California Lawyer of the Year (CLAY Award) by The Daily Journal, and Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the USC Law School Public Interest Law Fund.
Mr. Brown started his legal career in the Los Angeles office of Irell & Manella LLP, where his practice focused on a variety of complex civil litigation matters, including securities class action defense, antitrust and trademarks.
Mr. Brown was a Michael T. Masin Scholar at UCLA School of Law and staff editor of the Entertainment Law Review. He is admitted in California, New York, Texas, Florida, D.C., Washington, Illinois, Colorado, Oregon and Michigan.
