Bill Conway is Alderman of the 34th Ward, which includes parts of DePaul's loop campus. In City Council, he serves as the Vice-Chair of the Committee on Finance and is a member of several other committees. He was previously a Prosecutor at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office where he handled more than 10,000 cases and litigated 108 trials to verdict. In that role, he specialized in Public Corruption and Financial Crimes cases. He previously worked in Investment Banking at JP Morgan, where he handled mergers and acquisitions as well as debt and equity financing for industrial companies. He continues to serve as a reserve Intelligence Officerr in the U.S. Navy at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His military work tracking the Taliban's funding sources was featured in the New York Times. Notably, he is the only active military reservist in the history of the Chicago City Council. He has been a member of the Illinois Bar since 2006.
