Markena Peavy is senior counsel at BMO Harris Bank, N.A. She also is an adjunct professor at DePaul  College of Law where she teaches Secured Transactions and The Law of Financial Institutions. 

Prior to joining BMO, Peavy was vice president compliance advisory manager of MB Financial Bank, N.A., in Rosemont, Illinois. There, she oversaw a team of compliance advisors that supported the bank's consumer lending business units in the areas of indirect lending, consumer lending, private banking and the mortgage division.  

Peavy has worked extensively in the area of banking compliance and on litigation matters as outside counsel for various financial institutions.  She also has held multiple compliance positions at financial institutions and a non-bank mortgage servicer prior to joining MB Financial, including as compliance attorney with Dovenmuehle Mortgage Company; mortgage resolution specialist with Bank of America, N.A.; and as legal analyst with J.P. Morgan Chase.  Her experience also includes representing financial institutions on litigated matters in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana as an associate attorney with Crouch and Ramey in Dallas, Texas.  

She was admitted to the bar of the State of Texas in 2012 and the State of Illinois in 2015.
