DePaul Law Mourns the Passing of Donald C. Schiller (JD ’66)

Don Schiller
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald C. Schiller (JD ’66). Don was a titan of the Chicago legal community, and his mentorship, professionalism and legal acumen was recognized and admired by generations of attorneys.

Don founded Schiller DuCanto & Fleck in 1981, which he grew into one of the largest family law firms in the United States. He was widely recognized for his leadership and service, including as a past president of the Illinois State Bar Association, chair of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA) and a member of the ABA Board of Governors.

At the College of Law, Don will be remembered most for his unwavering support of the Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center and our family law students.  Since the Center’s founding 21 years ago, he has supported around 200 Family Law Fellows, helping shape the next generation of family law attorneys.

Don also served for over two decades on the College of Law’s Dean’s Advisory Council and was an active member of DePaul University's Many Dreams, One Mission Capital Campaign Committee. In 2013, he was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award, the highest honor the College of Law can bestow.
