A Victory for the Criminal Appeals Clinic

The Appellate Court reissued its decision in People v. Bill Lee. Mr. Lee was convicted of possessing a defaced firearm. The Court found that the admission of the dangerous nature of bullets discovered in the gun was irrelevant and prejudicial and remanded Mr. Lee's case for a new trial. Former Criminal Appeals Clinic students Elena Morgan, Katie McStay, and Elin Shobak did an excellent job on the brief last spring and Elena successfully argued the case last November.
