Cook County Domestic Relations Judges were invited to hear Prof. Susan Crokin, the O’Neill Institute Legal Scholar at Georgetown University Law Center, principal of Crockin Law & Policy Group, PLLC, and frequent national speaker on artificial reproductive technology (ART) law, present on the interesting legal topic of embryos division and allocation. Prof. Crokin discussed the legal aspects of embryos, how courts view embryos in separation cases, and the current and anticipated changes in science with respect to embryos. She also talked about her role in helping draft the Massachusetts infertility mandate as well as her work on the ABA’s initial Model ART Act and model IVF consent forms for the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology.
