The DePaul University College of Law has awarded Sioban Albiol, Director of the Asylum and Immigration Law Clinics (“AILC”) and clinical faculty member, the 2019 “Excellence in Faculty Achievement Award.” For over seventeen years, Professor Albiol has trained and mentored students in providing legal assistance to refugees and immigrants, and guided the College of Law’s Legal Resource Project which now collaborates with over thirty community-based organizations throughout the state. Professor Albiol has received widespread praise from non-profit and government communities and is constantly working towards increasing humanitarian protection for the underserved communities.
