AILC Provides Training for Lake County Law Enforcement on Immigrant Victims of Crimes

The Asylum a​​nd Immigration Law Clinic partnered with Mano a Mano in Lake County, Illinois to provide training on the Illinois VOICES Act which directs law enforcement agencies to respond to requests for certifications from immigrant crime victims. The VOICES Act became law in January of 2019 thanks in part to a report prepared by former DePaul students and faculty Unequal Protection: Disparate Treatment of Immigrant Crime Victims in Cook, the Collar Counties & Beyond which can be found here.​
