Flagship Programs
Intellectual Property Scholars Conference
Founded by DePaul, this annual conference brings together scholars from around the world to present works-in-progress and discuss current issues in IP/IT law. The event is co-sponsored by the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology, Cardozo School of Law, Stanford Law School and DePaul Law.
DePaul Cyber Risk Conference
This interdisciplinary annual event explores new frontiers in cybersecurity with a focus on legal, business and ethical challenges. It is co-sponsored by CIPLIT, the Arditti Center for Risk Management at the Driehaus College of Business and the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media.
IP Theory and Practice Series
Each spring, CIPLIT offers a six-week "Introduction to IP Theory and Practice" lecture series specifically for first-year students. Taught by both full-time faculty and practicing IP attorneys, the series introduces core concepts and practice areas in intellectual property law. It’s a unique opportunity to build a foundation in IP early in your legal education and to enhance your resume. Students who complete all sessions receive a certificate of completion.Arts Law Colloquium
The Arts Law Colloquium, facilitated by Professors Patty Gerstenblith and Margit Livingston, features lunchtime presentations by attorneys, government officials, and academics who are leading experts in the areas of art, museum, cultural heritage, music, theater, film and media law. The Arts Law Colloquium helps advance CAMCHL's mission of enhancing awareness and understanding of art, museum and cultural heritage law issues by exposing students, lawyers and other professionals to the myriad legal issues encountered by experts who practice in these fields. These lunchtime presentations also help give students, practicing attorneys and other professionals practical insights into the day-to-day tasks and duties faced by the experts who practice in these complex legal fields. This series is co-sponsored by DePaul's Center for Intellectual Property Law & Information Technology (CIPLIT).

Tech-Law Boot Camp
Held each Fall, the Tech-Law Boot Camp is an intensive, week-long experience that introduces you to the practical realities of practicing technology law. Led by CIPLIT faculty and alumni practitioners, sessions explore current trends and issues in IP, privacy, data security and technology transactions. The boot camp is open to all JD students and is especially valuable for 1Ls considering a career in IP/IT.Jaharis Symposium on Health Law & Intellectual Property
Co-hosted by CIPLIT and the Jaharis Health Law Institute, this symposium highlights emerging issues at the intersection of health care and IP.
Niro Distinguished Intellectual Property Lecture
Founded in 1998, this series features influential voices in IP/IT law addressing timely issues for faculty, students and practitioners.
Hosier Distinguished Visiting Intellectual Property Scholar
Established in 2005, this series brings leading IP scholars from institutions like Harvard, Notre Dame, Tulane and others to DePaul Law to present cutting-edge research and engage with faculty and students.
CIPLIT Faculty Lectures
CIPLIT faculty regularly present on timely topics. Recent lectures have explored issues including digital forensics, the right to repair, and recent decisions in cases such as Amgen v. Sanofi, LKQ Corp. v. General Motors and Jack Daniel’s v. VIP.

CIPLIT also co-sponsors events with the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago; the Copyright Society of the USA, Midwest Chapter; the Chicago Bar Association; the Association of Patent Law Firms; and other organizations.
