Mentorship Program
Health law is an extremely broad field, and with new areas of concentration emerging regularly, it can be challenging to figure out where your interests best align. The Health Law Mentorship Program helps Health Law Fellows explore potential paths by connecting you with practicing attorneys across a wide range of specialties. Your mentor will help you think through career goals, navigate questions about the field, and offer practical advice on areas including medical malpractice, reimbursement and finance, compliance, public health, bioethics, risk management, physician contracting and more.
Professional Associations
If you’re looking to expand your network while staying on top of key issues in the field, consider joining the
Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys (IAHA). Law students can become IAHA student members for just $25 per year, and membership is covered by JHLI for all fellows. As a member, you'll receive a monthly newsletter, gain access to quarterly lectures and annual surveys, attend the IAHA’s annual health law symposium and tap into a directory of professionals across the state. IAHA membership is a valuable way to deepen your understanding of the field and connect with leading health law practitioners.
