Angelica Lopez joined the DePaul Legal Clinic in January 2014 as a staff attorney for the Legal Resources Project. Lopez is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law. She previously served as a staff attorney for the Immigration Project at LAF (Legal Assistance Foundation) where she primarily represented immigrant victims applying for U-visas. In addition Lopez represented immigrants before the Executive Office of Immigration Review on a variety of remedies including cancellation of removal, asylum, withholding and U-visa applicants. Lopez developed partnerships with local colleges and universities to provide screening and referral for DACA eligible students and worked with community organizations and local high schools to host DACA workshops. In addition, she provided legal training and technical assistance to pro bono attorneys representing U-visa and DACA applicants.
