Intellectual Property Legal Writing Section

Qualified first year law students can be admitted to IP LARC, DePaul's unique IP legal writing section, which places specific emphasis on current topics in intellectual property law as part of the first-year Legal Analysis, Research & Communication (LARC) curriculum. Each IP LARC section is taught by an attorney with professional intellectual property experience. Students in the IP LARC program are taught the research and writing skills traditionally taught within the first year of law school, such as memorandum and brief writing skills, within the context of intellectual property law. A major advantage of the IP LARC program is that it introduces students to a variety of intellectual property issues, principles and skills in their first year of law school, setting them apart from students at schools with traditional law school legal writing curricula, which do not offer any training in intellectual property law in the first year of law school.
