Margit Livingston
Professor of Law; Faculty Director, Center for Animal Law
Professor Livingston teaches and writes in the areas of intellectual property, commercial law and animal law. Her articles have appeared in the primary law reviews of North Carolina, Iowa, Fordham, William & Mary, Washington, Nebraska, and Boston College, among others. She has won numerous awards for her teaching, scholarship and service, including the DePaul College of Law Faculty Achievement Award in 2010, the DePaul University Spirit of Inquiry Award in 2014 and the DePaul University Excellence in Teaching Award in 2015. She is a graduate of the renowned Second City Conservatory for Improvisational Comedy and recently studied advanced acting at HB Studio in New York. She holds a JD and an MA in theatre arts from the University of Minnesota and an LLM from the University of Illinois.

Brett Harrison Davinger

Program Coordinator, Center for Intellectual Property Law and Information Technology (CIPLIT®)
Brett Harrison Davinger is associate director of DePaul University College of Law’s Center for Animal Law and the Program Coordinator for CIPLIT®. As operational principal of the center he is responsible for furthering discourse and dialogue on issues related to the legal standing of animals. He is a graduate of New York University with a BA in journalism/media studies and received a JD from DePaul University College of Law.

Emily N. Winfield
Adjunct Professor of Law, DePaul University College of Law
Emily N. Winfield is adjunct professor of animal law and former associate director of the Center for Animal Law. Ms. Winfield has extensive knowledge of the legal issues involved in the humane treatment of animals. She is active in advocacy efforts related to general animal welfare and regularly contributes to the center’s extracurricular programs and outreach efforts. Professor Winfield received her JD from the University of Iowa and her BA from Case Western Reserve University
