If you are interested in volunteering, a good first step is to contact pbcsi@depaul.edu and ask to be placed on PBCSI's email list for its weekly e-newsletter and volunteer bulletin. Also, check out PBCSI's facebook page for a current list of Donate-A-Day events and description of our partner organizations, which can also be reviewed on this site. After taking these steps, you can contact PBCSI's Director at pbcsi@depaul.edu to schedule an appointment to find a volunteer opportunity that fits your interests and schedule. Below are some additional tips and resources for finding a volunteer site.

PBCSI’s partner sites are just a few of the places available to volunteer in Chicago. For a comprehensive list of Chicago’s legal aid agencies seeking volunteers, check out the Chicago Bar Foundation’s Pro Bono Opportunities Guide at http://www.chicagobarfoundation.org.

Students can also search for pro bono opportunities through Illinois Legal Aid Online ("ILAO"). Go to http://lawstudents.illinoisprobono.org/ to see recent pro bono and community service opportunities with legal-aid organizations who are specifically seeking law-student volunteers.

Another resource is Illinois Legal Aid Online and the Public Interest Law Initiative's Pro Bono Case Pairing & Mentor Matching System, which was created to promote pro bono legal services throughout Illinois. This program matches newer pro bono volunteers, including law students, with experienced pro bono practitioners who will serve as general pro bono mentors. It also matches law student volunteers with pro bono attorneys to assist on a specific pro bono case or matter.
