In fulfillment of DePaul’s distinctive mission of service, and in preparation for attorneys’ unique professional responsibilities, the Pro Bono & Community Service Initiative (PBCSI) connects law students with legal and non-legal volunteer opportunities that address the needs of underserved people.
One of these opportunities is PBCSI's Neighborhood Legal Assistance Project (NLAP). Staffed with a supervising attorney and DePaul law student volunteers, NLAP assists the homeless with free legal information and advice about expunging or sealing criminal records, obtaining state IDs, and housing and public benefits. Through NLAP, our students gain hands-on legal experience while learning about the importance of pro bono work and helping some of the most needy members of our community.
Please consider making a gift to support NLAP. Your donation will help to support this critical access-to-justice and law student pro bono/experiential learning program. All donations are deeply appreciated and are deductible for income tax purposes to the extent permitted by law.
