Academic Programs
Sorrento, Italy
May 27 - June 20, 2013
DePaul University College of Law invites you to attend its summer study abroad program in Sorrento, Italy.
Sorrento, a lovely Italian town situated on the Bay of Naples, lies on one of the most celebrated stretches of coastline in the world. It is just a short ferry ride from the famed island of Capri and shares the same peninsula as the Amalfi Coast. The natural setting could not be more spectacular.
Our host institution, Sorrento Lingue, is a short walk from the center of town and provides a commanding view of the bay. The ancient ruins of Pompeii, the volcano of Mt. Vesuvius and the bustling city of Naples are all a brief train ride away. Program visits include a bike to the top of Mt. Vesuvius, an exploration of the ancient city of Pompeii, a trip to the courts and the University of Naples and a tour of an ice cream factory—where we make our own samples!
The following courses will be offered:
- International Dispute Resolution
- Comparative Competition Law
- Comparative Religion Law
There also will be guest lecturers by Italian law professors and visits to several Italian legal institutions.
Program participants will earn five credit hours upon successful completion of all coursework.
