DePaul Law Students and Alumni Assist Seniors through the Center for Disability & Elder Law's Senior Center Initiative
On Friday, October 29, 2010, in conjunction with the Center for Disability & Elder Law, DePaul law students and alumni assisted low-income seniors residing at the Edith Spurlock Sampson Apartments on Chicago's North Side. DePaul volunteers helped seniors prepare a variety of advanced directives, such as living wills and powers of attorney for health care and property. The volunteer day was one of DePaul College of Law's Pro Bono & Community Service Initiative's "Donate-a-Day" events, which are meaningful, short-term service opportunities for students who may not be able to make an extended volunteer commitment. Below are some photos from the volunteer day.
