Rinn Law Library
Group Study Room Reservation Policy
The Rinn Law Library has limited space available to be reserved during the study and exam period for DePaul Law student group study. Law Library Rooms 408, 409, 410 & 411 will be available for reservations.
To make a reservation: Log into the College of Law Room Scheduler with the username "depaullaw" and the password "law123".
Please observe the following rules when making a reservation and using the group study rooms:
- Room use is restricted to groups (two or more people) of DePaul law students. Rooms may be booked for up to four hours. Groups may reserve only one room per day.
- The names of all group members participating in a reservation must be listed at the time of submission of the online reservation. Each member listed in the reservation will be counted as making their reservation for the day. Example: Alice makes a reservation for room 409 from 1PM-3PM for a group consisting of her, Bob, Carol, and Dave. That is the sole reservation for that day that Bob, Carol, or Dave may participate in. Neither Alice, Bob, Carol, nor Dave may reserve (or be listed on the reservation for) room 410 the same day. (Nor can any of them reserve 409 for another time block that day.)
- You must have a DePaul ID Card to participate in a reservation. Staff members will ask for the DePaul ID Card of each member of the group upon arrival, to verify they are a participant in the reservation.
- All room reservations must be made at least 1 business day in advance. If a room is unreserved, it may be used by a group of DePaul Law Students (not an individual) on a first come, first served basis.
- Rooms should be reserved well in advance to ensure booking since Law Library study rooms are in heavy demand. The Law Library will not cancel or rearrange another group's reservation to accommodate a new request.
- If a group fails to arrive within 30 minutes of its scheduled start time, or if fewer than two people arrive for the reservation, the group's reservation will be cancelled and the room will be opened for use on a first come, first served basis.
- Personal Belongings: The Law Library is not responsible for any items left unattended. All individuals are urged to keep laptops, purses, book bags and other valuables in their direct supervision at all times.
- Noise and disruption: The Law Library is a quiet place to study. Please respect others studying and conducting research in the library at all times. Groups in meeting spaces are expected to interact with low voice levels, and should keep the meeting room doors closed.
In addition to the rooms listed on the online calendar, there are non-reservable group study rooms throughout the Law Library on the 4th, 5th & 6th floors. (See maps.) These rooms operate on a first come, first served basis, with priority going to groups of DePaul law students over individual DePaul law student use.
Please direct questions about reserving Law Library Group Study Rooms during finals to the Circulation Desk at (312) 362-8121.
