Biography Prior to joining DePaul in 2006, Sarah Klaper was a community lawyer at the Citizen Advocacy Center, a non-profit, non-partisan community legal organization focusing on access and accountability in local government through the use of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, and the First Amendment. Klaper managed the Center's litigation, monitored local governments and agencies, and created and taught an "active civics" curriculum. Klaper began her legal career at Southeastern Ohio Legal Services in Portsmouth, Ohio, where she maintained a general civil legal practice in a rural three-county area, was president of the county domestic violence shelter board of directors, and coached a high school mock trial team. |
