Biography Prior to joining DePaul in 2002, Benjamin E. Alba was a partner in the civil litigation firm of Sneckenberg, Thompson & Brody, where he handled insurance, personal injury, malpractice, civil rights, product liability, and administrative review matters; he also trained the firm’s law clerks and associates. At Loyola University Chicago School of Law (1984-93), he taught legal writing, moot court, and pretrial litigation. He is a certified arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County. In 2005 Alba published his first book, Inventing Late Night: Steve Allen and the Original Tonight Show (Prometheus Books, foreword by Jay Leno), which has generated coverage in several media, including Television Quarterly, Entertainment Weekly, Fox Business Network, Advertising Age, The Daily Variety, The Chicago Tribune Magazine, and The Sunday Times (UK). Alba also serves as chairman of the Grant Park Conservancy Board. |
