Robert Gevirtz is a partner in the law firm of Gevirtz and Born, specializing in the practice of criminal law. Gervitz handles capital cases in both state and federal courts. Professor Gevirtz was a Cook County Public Defender for 17 years and one of the original members of its Homicide Task Force. He held many supervisory positions in the office including 2nd Assistant Public Defender. Gevirtz has taught Trial Advocacy at both Loyola Law School and Kent College of Law. Gevirtz has participated as an author, instructor and moderator for Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education and as a speaker at the Northwestern University Traffic Institute.
