Public Service Law

Serving in public interest areas covers a variety of settings: all levels of government, the nonprofit sector and some private enterprises. Law Career Services provides various resources such as guides, job postings, events and networking opportunities in Vincent and the law school calendar through its weekly newsletters. Law Career Services also regularly collaborates with student organizations and various centers and institutes in both the law school and the community, such as the Public Interest Law Initiative and Chicago Bar Foundation.

Law Career Services subscribes to PSJD, the national database for public sector job postings, which also includes a wealth of information on job search materials, fellowships, government jobs and more. Law Career Services memberships and involvement with NALP, Equal Justice Works, Chicago Area Law School Consortium, Chicago Bar Association and Government College Relations Council provide invaluable opportunities and resources for DePaul students. The primary public service job fairs are the Equal Justice Works Conference and Career Fair each fall and regional Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference each spring. Law Career Services also subscribes to the Government Honors & Internship Handbook and Intercollegiate Job Bank, among others. Passwords are available through the Vincent quick links called Job Board Passwords.
