General Law Reunion Questions
Why should I attend Law Reunion?
Law Reunion will be a great opportunity to catch up with classmates, reconnect with professors and learn about the great things happening at the College of Law. DePaul has been ranked among the top tier law schools by US News & World Report and its health law and intellectual property programs are among the best in the nation. Last year, over 200 law alumni, friends and faculty attended Law Reunion.
Where is Law Reunion taking place?
Law Reunion is being held at the Hotel InterContinental on Michigan Avenue. Registration will take place in the 5th Floor and the dinner will be in the Renaissance Ballroom. Both are located on the 5th floor in the historic tower of the Hotel Intercontinental. Class cocktail receptions will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in various locations on the 5th and 6th floors. You will be directed to your class reception upon registration.
Why doesn’t my class have its own separate reunion event?
Grouping all ten reunion classes together at one event makes it easy for the Dean and faculty to mingle and speak with all alumni. It also creates opportunities for people to network and socialize with alumni from other classes.
How will I find my classmates at Law Reunion?
Each class will have a designated area or room in which to meet during the cocktail reception beginning at 6:00 p.m. You will be directed to your class reception area upon registration. Classes will also be seated together during dinner. Tables will be clearly labeled so it will be easy for you to find and sit with your classmates.
Can I request to be seated with specific classmates?
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate specific seating requests. Tables will be clearly labeled by class and if you wish to sit with specific classmates, we encourage you to head into the Grand Ballroom to find your seat for dinner a few minutes early.
What is the attire for Law Reunion?
Attire for Law Reunion is cocktail attire.
Who else is coming to Law Reunion?
A complete listing of reunion attendees will be available online on your class page beginning in early August. This listing will be updated regularly.
What else is happening at DePaul the weekend of Law Reunion?
Law Reunion is held in connection with DePaul University's Reunion Weekend, October 18-20, 2013. For a complete listing of Reunion Weekend events, please visit http://alumni.depaul.edu/reunion.

Reunion Giving Questions
How much should I contribute to the class gift?
The reunion class gift effort is not about how much you give, but whether you give at all. Even the smallest gift will raise the percentage of loyal alumni who give to the College of Law annually. That percentage is used in determining law school rankings and may also be considered by prospective students, donors and employers as a reflection of alumni support for, and satisfaction with, the College of Law.
Can I designate exactly where my money will go?
Yes. The College of Law is encouraging alumni in reunion years to give to the Law Scholarship Fund this year in an effort to increase available scholarship funds for students who may not otherwise be able to attend DePaul. However, you can also designate your gift to one or more of the following funds:
- The Fund for Law, which enables the College of Law to attract and retain outstanding faculty, enhance technology and the law library and develop cutting-edge curriculum while increasing the College of Law’s growing national reputation.
- The Loan Repayment Assistance Program, which provides public interest alumni with funds to offset some of their student loan burden.
- The Rinn Law Library
- The Faculty Research & Scholarship Fund
- Any of the College of Law’s many centers, institutes, clinics, journals, student organizations or specific scholarship funds.
Will I receive recognition for my gift?
Yes. All reunion year donors will be listed in an honor roll at Law Reunion and President’s Club level donors will be specially recognized in the honor roll. You also have the option to remain anonymous if you choose. Gifts must be received by September 27, 2013 to be included in the honor roll at Law Reunion.
What is the President’s Club?
The President’s Club, founded in 1981, is DePaul’s premier annual giving society, honoring those who most generously share their personal resources to affirm and sustain the university’s Vincentian mission. All donors who contribute $1,000 or more annually to DePaul are members of the President’s Club.
The President’s Club also includes special introductory giving levels for recent graduates. Alumni who graduated between six and 10 years ago can become President’s Club members with an annual gift of $500 or more. Alumni who graduated within the last five years will be recognized as President’s Club members with a gift of $250 or more.
