Lodging & Costs

DePaul arranges travel to and from Chiapas and all hotel arrangements for the 10-day program. For those staying the entire summer, participants may arrange apartment, family or other community lodging, in consultation with the program director and our community hosts.

While in San Cristobal, participants are required to stay at the program hotel. All participants must be able to travel on designated dates and cannot travel elsewhere during the program without permission of the director. Any student having separate funding to allow a longer time in Chiapas must make arrangements with the director.

DePaul will arrange travel, accommodation, cost of instruction and related program expenses.

  • 10-day program: Enrolled students should expect to pay approximately $1,100. Partial scholarships may be available.
  • Summer-long program: Students who stay in Chiapas after the 10-day program receive a stipend of approximately $3,500.
