The center's mission is to advance the field of animal law by regularly contributing scholarship and providing educational and research opportunities for students, lawyers and others interested in ensuring legal recourse for the humane treatment of animals.

The Center for Animal Law stands poised to become the Midwest's leading resource for scholarship and outreach related to animal law. With a focus on training the next generation of leaders who will shape animal law policy in Chicago and beyond, the center offers a blend of educational, research and practical opportunities.

Over the course of the next five years, the DePaul Center for Animal Law aims to firmly establish its identity in the legal community as an independent research-and-education-based institute that provides top-notch training for students, creates professional development opportunities for alumni and local practitioners and contributes cutting-edge scholarly research and publications that advance the field of animal law.
